Design Checklist

Design Checklist is a collection of design guidelines and best practices gathered in one place. It includes the basic aspects to consider when you are designing prototypes or testing an application under development.

The checklist includes aspects such as design system fundamentals, basic components and design patterns.

Why a Design Checklist

With how complex the user experience design has become, it's easy to overlook some small details just before the big launch, and sometimes, it's hard to choose the right technique or strategy to solve a particular problem. That's where this checklist can help and make quality assurance work easier.

How to use this checklist

There are a few ways you can use this resource:

  • Reviewing prototypes, reference the checklist to ensure you haven’t forgotten anything.

  • When testing the product under development, use this checklist as a guide to confirm your components and patterns are working as designed.

Whenever you build prototypes or are in the development phase of an app, you can use the checklist to evaluate your design for affordability, simplicity, structure, consistency, accessibility and feedback to make sure it is easy to use for everyone.

We encourage teams to make use of the design checklist in order to ensure that they have followed the design system guidelines in the products that are developed in the department.
